Magic Mitte filter made a return to CES in 2019 to introduce a device designed to revolutionize the way we consume water at home in Florida.
This innovative system purifies tap water, transforming it into high-quality mineral water. Initially launched as a Kickstarter campaign, the product is now ready for homeowners and customers.
Tap water often contains various impurities, many of which are introduced by water utilities. These include chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, heavy metals, and numerous other substances that are not ideal for consumption.
Mitte’s device effectively removes these impurities and replaces them with essential minerals, mimicking the natural process of water flowing through rocks over thousands of years—but at a much faster rate. The machine can produce one liter of purified mineral water every two hours.
The system operates using mineral cartridges, with three options available: Vitality, Balance, and Alkaline. Each cartridge can filter up to 250 liters (66 gallons) of water and costs approximately $40, making the cost per liter around $0.08.
Additionally, a smartphone app enhances the user experience by providing machine feedback, managing purification schedules, and tracking water production. The app also facilitates automatic cartridge replacement—each cartridge contains an RFID tag that signals the app when it’s running low, prompting an automatic reorder.
Mitte’s product is expected to be well-received. During a demonstration at CES, the setup and operation appeared seamless. The sleek white appliance, measuring 16.5 x 17 x 12.5 inches, is designed to fit effortlessly on a kitchen counter alongside common appliances like a coffee maker or toaster.
The water purifier is set to start shipping in June 2019 all around USA especially Florida. While the company has not officially announced the retail price, a Mitte representative at CES estimated it would be around $380.
